Excerpt #100 from my book, Religion, An Obstacle to Human Progress
We can transcend our historical limitations.
Freedom from the turmoil of our external world is ours for the taking.
How do we achieve it?
It’s easy really.
We grow up.
We advance beyond our childish behavior.
That which is “boundless” abounds.
Here and now.
It’s everywhere.
We just don’t see it because we’re looking “out there,” “up there” for it.
Nor do we have to go into an altered state to experience it.
We just need to take responsibility for our individual lives and our relationships with one another and the extraordinary array of life on this planet.
It’s all quite amazing but we don’t get “it.”
We’re getting closer though.
Your daily life is your temple and your religion. – Excerpt from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran
When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion. – Abraham Lincoln (1809 – 1865)
